Fueling curiosity, innovation, and community through space science education and research in South Texas.
About STSSI
The South Texas Space Science Institute (STSSI), established by UTRGV, aims to enhance the impact of space exploration in the Rio Grande Valley. Our mission is to expand access to diverse STEM career opportunities and increase degree recipients, especially among underrepresented groups. By partnering with institutions and communities, we immerse students in cutting-edge research and outreach, attracting more students to UTRGV’s space sciences programs and strengthening the local workforce.
